Dear Sane,

SOME is used in English when the answer YES is expected.
Can I have some coffee?
Would you like some wine?
That means that I expect a positive answer. YES.
SOME in my case can mean an unspecified or unknown.
That means Jasmin made some mistakes in her posting and I expect some more.

ANY is used in negative sentences.
I haven`t any children.
Also - "practically every", "no particular one".
ANY dictionary will give you the meaning.
And ANY is used when we expect a negative answer from someone.
Would you like any tea?
It means - you expect - NO.
Very impolite:-))))
OK?
Do you have any questions?:-))))
Mark

Dear Mark,

sagt man nicht: "I will correct your mistakes if there are any?"

Bzw. warum "some" und wann "any".

Dear Jasmin,

you see - too many cooks spoil the broth:-))))
Stay with us and write some articles about the subjects.
I think they`re interesting enough to voice your own opinions.
I will correct your mistakes - if there are some:-))

Alright, so I decided to log on for the first time and participate in the ("Talk with Mark" - or any other kind of) conversation.

My problem is simple. I lived in New York for several years, Jamaican Queens (Rockaway) to be exact. So I am good with Patois and New-York-er english. I worked for a few American companies, but ever since I started lessons in "Cambridge English" I am totally confused. I feel like a total (bloody) beginner :(

Okay, I think you see where I am going with my point ...

I want to learn :) Especially grammar.

greetings
Jasmin
