Talk with Mark! / the snugLet´s have a party here and discuss some interesting issues, intrigues and scandals. | | | | | Mark | 29.10.08, 21:22, Beiträge: 107 | | | | | Hailed as the birthplace of Halloween, Ireland's celebration is more of the Americanized version these days, but it does have a few unique twists. During parties to celebrate the occasion, a game called "snap-apple" is played. An apple is tied to a string and hung from a doorway or a tree branch. A person with her hands tied behind her back then attempts to bite the apple. Also on Halloween, the Irish eat a treat called a barmbrack—a cake that contains items believed to predict the eater's future. Finding a ring means the person will be wed soon, and a piece of string means that person will have a prosperous year.
Interestingly, it is said that the creation of jack-o'-lanterns" also originated in Ireland. In an ancient story, a man called "Stingy Jack" is not allowed into heaven because of the way he lived. He also isn't allowed into hell because he played tricks on the devil. It is rumored that the devil gives Jack an ember out of sympathy so that he could roam the world between good and evil. Jack placed the ember into a hollowed out turnip so that he could find his way.

Halloween is just around the corner, which means ghouls, ghosts, witches and goblins will be wandering the streets in search of tasty treats. But Halloween wasn't always about finding the latest greatest costume or collecting bags full of candy.
Originally, Halloween was know as Samhain, which was created by the Celts. They believed that during this day the dead returned as ghosts and that the mere presence of these ghosts aided their priests in predicting the future. The Celts would set bonfires, make sacrifices of food and animals to appease their Gods and wear costumes to celebrate the day. Combined with influences from other cultures, Samhain has become the Halloween celebration that Americans know today.

Dear magic Mark,
I hope you didn't mean me in your lovely but tragic short story. :-)))
I asked my tarot cards about the future of my love.
This is the answer:
I have chosen the moon or would it be better to say that this card wanted to be chosen?
searching on the internet for meanings, I found:
The moon:
...
Basic Meaning
With Pisces as its ruling sign, the Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition.
They can and should trust their intuition.
Thirteen's Observations
This is the card of that scary, dreamy, secret otherworld where lies the most powerful and dark magics. Primal magics. It is the card that you'd get for Jackson Pollack types, switching between being wild, mean, crazy drunks and creative geniuses. They have wicked mood swings, dark, dark, dark depressions, charming manic modes. They have no inhibitions, don't even try to behave themselves in polite society, their crazy behavior sometimes inspired, sometimes horribly embarrassing, even unbelievable, even dangerous. But the art, poetry, music they produce....it's magic. When I get this card, I let the Querent know they're in for an emotional and mental rollercoaster ride.
...
The moon card represents the evolution of spirit. The shell fish is symbolic of life emerging from the water of creation and starting on the path of return to the creator. The path is narrow and long representing the trials and the length of time that evolution takes. The path has its ups and downs and is not completed right away, but a slow process of learning and focus. The 32 tongues of fire falling from the moon are symbolic of the 32 paths to the tree of life. The dogs are symbolic of mans nature, one is trained, and the other is wild, the positive and negative forces that we must control to complete our time here.
Now, my future is clear, isn't it? :-) Like moonlight...

It was another sleepless night. I am glad I don`t have to work with any clients right now. I wouldn`t know how to pull through today. I am working alone in my office.
Last night I was already in bed with my two cats on me, thinking about my life, my future and all the things that have to be done soon.
Suddenly the phone rang. It was one of my best girlfriends - Aleta.
She told me she went to a fat woman yesterday.
“Mark, she had deep, magic, devilish, brown eyes like yours. I told her that I am so hopelessly in love with this certain man. She looked into my eyes again and said in her mumbo-jumbo language:
“You have to leave that man. If not, you`re going to bleed the whole life through and you`ll never recover from suffering, anguish, agony and quiver. Cases of blood will flood your heart and it will suffocate you every day. More and more. Till you cry your heart out, stumble and fall”.
What do you think about wizards, diviners, mediums?
Palm readers, tarot card readers, crystal experts and enchanters?
Do you think they are able to tell you your future?
What do you see in your future?
What will happen to you? |
