How do you spend Easter? Commercialisation has led to the Easter period being little more than a chocolate eating spree rather than the time of introspection and self-sacrifice it used to be amongst church-goers. Unlike the general excesses of the Christmas season, the Easter period is marked by one day of gorging - "Fat Tuesday" or "Mardi Gras" in the United States, "Pancake Day" or "Shrove Tuesday" in Britain.
